Hello everyone! Thought it might be worth saying hello before the summit so we’re not all starting cold.
I’m Othman, I build Rocus (rocus.io) which is an open source knowledge graph for the websites, notes and files you save. It reads them, clusters them, and makes them searchable, and the LLM runs inside your browser on WebGPU, so nothing leaves the device. I’ll be giving a lightning talk on it in round two!
Two questions for anyone else coming:
What are you hoping to get out of the day?
And is there someone specific you’re hoping to meet? Happy to make introductions where I can, and I’d like to know who to look for myself.
Looking forward to the Summit and to meeting you @Othman !
My name is Rik, I work with e Foundation (https://e.foundation) and with Murena (https://e.foundation). Both work together on /e/OS and Murena works on several additional products like Murena Workspace, Murena MDM and Murena Maps.
For the day: I’m really excited to get so many ethical tech partners together in 1 room to talk together about how to best collaborate in the future! It is my hope that a lot of technical, commercial and other collaborations will be founded during the day.
I’m Katharina from the Murena communications team and I’m especially looking forward to learning something practical from different talks so that they’ll inspire me with new ideas, and to meeting the faces behind organizations - who knows, maybe this leads to some joint campaigns that help us all move forward!
Good morning everyone! I’m Michael Oghia, representing the Global Forum for Media Development (GFMD), which is part of SuperApps/SuperStack. Our involvement is related to a project we launched in 2024 – the Journalism Cloud Alliance, and more recently, our cloud exchange (infratype).
I’ll be giving a lightning talk on this during the Summit, but suffice to say, journalism and public interest orgs are keen to shift to tech they can trust. Looking forward to meeting you all and being part of this!
I am Pierre, co-founder of TeleCoop France, we offer mobile plan with an ethical twist. We are non profit and pushing our 20 000 users (individuals and companies) towards changing their digital habits towards more ethical and ecological solutions.
Looking forward to discuss with our historical partners Fairphone, Commown and Murena and create bonds with future partners.
Hi folks! This is Bill from The Word Gym, based in the UK and Ireland. We’re attending as communication specialists who support the ongoing movement towards fairer business and a fairer society. We’re really excited about the work being done by open-source developers, by companies like Fairphone, Murena, Jolla and Shift, and by developments such as Nextcloud-based online workspaces. There’s so much positive news out there, and it needs to be spread about! We look forward to meeting you all.
I am Arthur from Fairphone, working in the sales department and involve in discussions/collaborations with many companies here like Murena, Commown, Telecoop…
Very happy to attend this event next week and learn more about the fair initiatives happening in the industry.

In general, I have extensive experience working as a project manager across a wide range of international projects, including initiatives in the non-governmental sector and Horizon Europe projects. My work has primarily focused on leading work packages related to dissemination, exploitation and communication, as well as network coordination, impact activities, stakeholder engagement, and the implementation of broader project-level communication and impact strategies.
I am looking forward to meeting you all and explore opportunities for future collaborations.
Hello everyone, I’m Falco, one of the maintainers of Discourse, the open source forum software that powers this very site we are using right now. Coming all the way from Brazil.
Being a generalist, I have many interests, but more recently I’ve been focused on AI, especially when powered by open weights models, both locally on device, and on servers with open source model runtime engines, and on WebRTC-powered video and voice calls, again enhanced by on-device AI.
I’m eager to meet people working on both technical and social aspects of enabling human connection and OSS alternatives to big tech.
Hello, I am Veronika Pozdniakova, communication’s manager at Murena & /e/OS. My job is of course to spread the word about our solutions and the importance of the personal data privacy and the ethical tech.
I am also helping a bit with the organization of this summit. Looking forward to seeing you all soon at the event!
Hi all, I am Penar, a developer/manager at Discourse (colleague of Falco above). Very happy to be here and keen to say hello to everybody on Tuesday!
Our project with SuperAPPS has two branches: adding and fine-tuning audio/video communication in Discourse and improving integrations with open chat platforms like Element/Matrix. What’s possible technically today is fantastic and we should promote it so that people can leave walled gardens like Discord.
I’d like to meet like-minded folks. Quite interested in creative uses of language models as well: in the browser, locally plus creating, training and using small LMs for specific purposes.
Hello! I’m Wessel from NovaCustom. We supply custom laptops, mini PCs and smartphones with focus on privacy and security. Our laptops and mini PCs come with Dasharo coreboot open source firmware. We also highly value and support the right to repair.
I’m happy to meet you tomorrow to share ideas and to intensify collaboration!
